NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) will be the statutory legal entity which will replace NHS Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). It will bring the local NHS together to improve population health and care. Each Integrated Care Board (ICB) will hold a substantial budget for commissioning high quality patient care and have the authority to establish performance arrangements to ensure this is delivered.
As the Bill is drafted, the board of the ICB will have the following statutory members:
- A Chair – Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt has been appointed as the Chair-designate
- A Chief Executive – Tracey Bleakley has been appointed as CEO-designate
- At least three ‘ordinary members’ (these must include at least three “partner members” – primary care, provider organisation and local authority).
- Director of Finance
- Medical Director
- Director of Nursing
- Two independent non-executive members
All members of the board will be there in their own right and will have a responsibility to the system, rather than to just represent an organisation or a sector. The number of members and the composition of the Board will be agreed in due course.
